تعد السنة النبوية شارحة للقرآن الكريم؛ إذ هي توضح مبهمه، وتخصص عامه، وتقيد مطلقه، وتفصل مجمله، من أجل ذلك قيض الله لها في كل عصر من يذب عنها تحريف الغالين وانتحال المبطلين، ولقد اعتنى الأئمة على مر العصور بالسنة المطهرة كل عناية وبذلوا في سبيل الدفاع عنها إما جمعًا وإما تحقيقًا ونقدُا ودراسة لأسانيدها أو استنباط الأحكام منها وهذا العمل جزء من ذلك؛ حيث تناول هذا العمل الذي تعد السنة النبوية شارحة للقرآن الكريم؛ إذ هي توضح مبهمه، وتخصص عامه، وتقيد مطلقه، وتفصل مجمله، من أجل ذلك قيض الله لها في كل عصر من يذب عنها تحريف الغالين وانتحال المبطلين، ولقد اعتنى الأئمة على مر العصور بالسنة المطهرة كل عناية وبذلوا في سبيل الدفاع عنها إما جمعًا وإما تحقيقًا ونقدُا ودراسة لأسانيدها أو استنباط الأحكام منها وهذا العمل جزء من ذلك؛ حيث تناول هذا العمل الذي هو في الأصل رسالة دكتوراة جميع الأحاديث والآثار الواردة في فضائل سور القرآن الكريم، وقد قسم الكتاب إلى قسمين الأول القسم المقبول ويشمل الأحاديث والآثار الصحيحة والحسنة والضعيفة ضعفا يعتبر به مع تخريج كل حديث أو أثر وبيان حاله من الصحة أو الحسن أو الاعتبار، أما القسم الثاني فهو القسم المردود من الأحاديث والآثار، وهي الأحاديث والآثار شديدة الضعف والموضوعة والمشهورة على ألسنة الناس، مع دراسة أسباب وضع هذه الأحاديث وبيان المتهمين بوضعها وبيان حال هذه الأحاديث والآثار.
