-مأزق القيادة في الدولة الأيوبية والصراع على الحكم بين أفراد البيت الأيوبي وأفراد البيت الزنكي.
-دور الملك العادل والظروف المحيطة به والتي ساعدته على السيطرة على الأوضاع والخروج من الأزمة.
-علاقة الأيوبيين بالخلافة العباسية وكيف تطورت في ظل الخليفة العباسي الناصر لدين الله، كما تناولت علاقة الأيوبيين والدولة الموحدية في المغرب هذه العلاقة التي شابها الغموض والإضطراب.
-موقف الدولة الأيوبية من القوى الصليبية وتطور الغزو الصليبي وتقويم الموقف العربي وعلاقة الأيوبيين مع الدولة البيزنطية.
-العلاقات الإقتصادية مع المدن التجارية الأوروبية وخاصة الإيطالية.
