تلقي هذه الدراسة أضواء على تاريخ حركة إعلامية شغلت فترة سياسية هامة، وهي فترة ظهور الحياة الحزبية بشكل واضح في مصر النهضة. فكانت مواكبة لها، ومدرسة لأعضائها، ويمكن القول: "منبعاً لها"، لأن معظم أحزاب هذه الفترة خرجت من الصحف. وتقتصر الدراسة على صحف الحزب الوطني، وما دار في فلكه منها في شكل مصنف من حيث مساراتها، لأنها لم تكن تختلف كثيراً في أهدافها، وكذلك أظهرت مواقفها من القوى السياسية المعاصرة، وبعض قضايا المجتمع المصري في تلك الفترة.
