الكاتب المبدع شوقى عقل بعيداً عن مقالاته السياسية يقدم لنا مجموعته القصصية الثانية "منارة الأرواح" يرسم لنا فيها بالقلم شخصيات شابة عاشت تناضل من اجل مبادىء الحرية والحياة الكريمة ،حياة عاشها الكاتب نفسه لذا جاء التعبير صادقا قريبا الى النفس ،شخصيات تصادفها فى الطريق وفى الجامعة وفى الغربة، ، منها من يبكى زمن الوصال الذى لم يدم بسبب إيمان بقضية اكبر كقضية الوطن ، وفى قصة "الطريق الى الرملة" يتطرق لقضية كادت تخبو فى الكثير من الكتابات الحديثة وهى قضية فلسطين ،يقدم لنا احلام ابناء فلسطين بالعودة يوما ما رغم قسوة الواقع ، وقصة"ايام فى سوهاج"يلمس الجانب الجميل فى صعيد مصر رغم قلة الإهتمام به ولكن كل هذا يتلاشى مع كرم الصعايدة وحسن ضيافتهم وهى معانى نحتاج لها بشده فى زمن الأنا المتفشى فى العاصمة والمدن الكبيرة ،، شخصيات شوقى عقل شخصيات مصرية قوية رغم واقعها المرير فى قصة "نقابة الحى" يكشف قسوة واقع المهمشين الذين لا يجدون مأوى والموت احب اليهم من الحياة بعيدا عن سقف يأويهم حتى لو كان ايلا للسقوط ، قضية سكان المنازل المتهالكة الذين يرفضون الخروج منها ببساطة لعدم وجود مأوى فالموت فى بعض الأحيان اشرف واكرم وهى قصة عاشها كمهندس ، ومن واقع تجاربه الحياتية كأحد القيادات الطلابية فى السبعينات يصحبنا لنعيش تجارب طلبة مطاردين بسبب رغبتهم فى تحقيق حلم وطن جميل ،لا يدفع ابناءه بعيدا فى غربة بين بلدان عدة بحثا عن الأمان ولقمة عيش كريمة، وقصة سيما ترسو يقدم نموذج للشخصية الأنتهازية بندالة منقطعة النظير ليحقق رغبته ولوعلى جراح إمرأة عانت الأمرين فى حياة لم تخترها، "منارة الأرواح" قصص قصيرة تحرك مشاعر بداخلنا تبكى زمن ولى بكل ايجابياته وسلبياته وبقى تشوق الروح للكثير منه للعيش فيه من جديد خاصة قصة الحب الذى لم تكتمل ، حنين جارف لهذه الأيام يسطره لنا الكاتب بمشاعر غضة دافئة ..
