لقد ذكر المشركون شبهات عدة حول الرسالة والرسول - صلى الله عليه وسلم- أظهر كذبها القرآن الكريم، ومنها الزعم بأنه - صلى الله عليه وسلم - يفتري على الله سبحانه، أو يعلمه بشر، وجدالهم في كونه بشراً، أو يكون معه ملك،..ولم يرد القرآن الكريم على بعض الشبهات بل ذكر أنها تخالف الواقع، وأنهم يتجاوزونه في هذه الشبهات؛ فهي أوهى من نسيج العنكبوت، وإشاعتها دون تفكير أو ثبوت برهان على عجزهم، وقد عرضها الكتاب الكريم كذلك متهافتة، متناقضة تشهد الأحداث والملاحظات والتجارب بزورها وبطلانها، وذلك أبلغ من الرد عليها. ونعرض في هذا الكتاب ما ذكروه من الشبهات، محاولين تبيان بطلانها ببراهين القرآن، والعقل، وشهادات الأصدقاء والأعداء، والتحليل النفسي والعلمي لحياة النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - ، من خلال القرآن والأحاديث وروايات التاريخ الموثوقة التي هي المرجع الوحيد في الحكم على ظاهرة غائبة أو تقييم فرد عاد إلى ربه .
