يبين أن الاستبداد سبب كل تأخر، وأن الاستعمار لا بد وأن يتحول إلى استبداد. ويشرح طرق مكافحة الاثنين كما يراهما عبد الرحمن الكواكبي والبشير الابراهيمي مع ذكر ترجمة العلمين. ابتلى الشعب العربي في زمن الكواكبي بالاستبداد العثماني، فانبرى البطل يدافع عن حقوق المواطنين مبيناً لهم أساليب مكافحة الاستبداد بكل ما أوتى من قوة وفصاحة وبيان، حتى دفع حياته ثمناً على مذبح الحرية، ومناراً لجميع المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان. وكذل فعل البشير الإبراهيمي في الجزائر ذلك القطر العربي المسلم الذي كبله الاستعمار الفرنسي بأبشع قيود الظلم والتعسف، فكان الإبراهيمي أحد المنارات في طريق ثورة الجزائر التي أدت إلى النصر وتحرير الوطن من الاستعمار والاستبداد إلى الأبد. هاتان المنارتان في تاريخ أمتنا، اختارهما الدكتور أسعد السحمراني ليكونا موضوعا لبحثه المقارن بين أسلوب كل من البطلين المصلحين في مكافحة الاستعمار والاعتداء. ونعتقد أنه وفق في بحثه كل التوفيق، فعسى أن يكون في كتابه هذا رادعاً للذين يفكرون في استعباد رعاياهم ومرشداً للذين يعملون في سبيل حرية أمتهم واستقلال بلادهم والله ولي التوفيق.
