هكذا وفي آخر رحلة للسندباد المنسي تبلغ احتفالات الخيال ذروتها، وتغني الفكر بخواطر... ماذا لو عاد سندباد في هذا الحين..؟!! يأخذ الخيال بتلابيب الخواطر ميمماً شطر بحر يتقاطع في إحدى نقاط يمّه الزمان، ها هو سندباد بسفينته السندبادية التي غدت رحلاتها أسطورة يجتاز مرحلته الزمانية ليهبط على مشارف الحاضر.
وهنا يتألق العمل القصصي بالمقاربة الحاصلة بين الماضي والحاضر، الماضي بأخلاقياته ومناخاته الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والسياسية ووو... والحاضر بتحولاته وبسماته الأخلاقية وبمناخاته الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والعمرانية والصناعية والسياسية المغايرة... هكذا يمضي قضي الشيخ في سردياته القصصي في سندباد وفي المنسي وفي عزيزي درويش والبهلول، فكر ثر وخيال مترع تقفز على جنباته خواطر مطلة بعيونها على ماضٍ منطلقة من سؤال ماذا لو زارت شخصيات الماضي حاضرنا هذا؟!!
