محمود سعيد روائي عراقي.
كتب أكثر من عشرين رواية ومجموعة قصص، وله كتابان في التاريخ وقواعد اللغة العربية غير مطبوعين، ومئات المقالات.
بدأ بكتابة القصة القصيرة في سن مبكرة.
حاز على جائزة القصة القصيرة في جريدة فتى العراق سنة 1956م، وأصدر مجموعة قصص قصيرةمحمود سعيد روائي عراقي.
كتب أكثر من عشرين رواية ومجموعة قصص، وله كتابان في التاريخ وقواعد اللغة العربية غير مطبوعين، ومئات المقالات.
بدأ بكتابة القصة القصيرة في سن مبكرة.
حاز على جائزة القصة القصيرة في جريدة فتى العراق سنة 1956م، وأصدر مجموعة قصص قصيرة.
ولد في الموصل سنة 1939.
واعتقل سنة 1962 لثلاثة أشهر، و1963 لمدة سنة ويوم واحد، وفصل من العمل ثلاث سنوات، ذهب إلى المغرب، عمل هناك.
ثم اعتقل 1980 لبضعة أشهر سنة 1980 وكتب بعد الاعتقال رواية أنا الذي رأى، وتعرض للتوقيف أكثر من ثلاث مرّات، وللاستجواب والاحتجاز مرات عديدة.
سافر سنة 1985 للعمل في الخليج، وفي سنة 1999 هاجر إلى الولايات المتحدة، عمل مدرساً للغة العربية في العراق والمغرب، ويقوم بإلقاء محاضرات في اللغة العربية والخط في جامعة دي بول في شيكاغو، الولايات المتحدة، منع من النشر في العراق، فلم يصدر له هناك إلا مجموعة قصص قصيرة: بور سعيد وقصص أخرى سنة1957.

مجموعة قصصية وتضم المجموعة خمسة عشر قصة هي: - جود وهاشم. 2- معتوق. 3- الكامرا. 4- الجورية السوداء. 5- الجندي والخنازير. 6-الجدار. 7- دماء. 8-طيور الحب، والحرب. 9- العشيقان. 10- ورقة اللوز البري. 11- مدير الشركة العتيد. 12- راوندا و"م.ت.أ." 13- إنهم يحترمون الشعر. 14- جليد، وتلفون، و. 15-المرأة التي انتصرت على تيمورلنك. وسيصدر قريبا عن دار فضاءات للكاتب محمود سعيد مجموعة قصصية اخرى بعنوان" طفلة عراقية في شيكاغو" علمًا بأن الروائي محمود سعيد كتب أكثر من عشرين رواية ومجموعة قصص، فازت قصته القصيرة "البندقية المشؤومة" بجائزة جريدة فتى العراق- الموصل. ومنعت روايته "زنقة بن بركة" من النشر في العراق سنة 1970، ثم فازت بجائزة وزارة الإعلام في العراق، سنة 1993، وفازت "روايته نهاية النهار" بجائزة نادي القصة القاهرية، 1996، وكانت بعنوان "هل انتهت الحرب" وفازت قصة "شجاعة امرأة" بجائزة قصة أطفال في أبو ظبي 1999.
