التدفق الإيقاعي، والكثافة العاطفية، والتوتر الرومنتيكي، هي سمات أساسية في الديوان الأول لأحمد أبو سليم. هذا الديوان يجمل معظم الصفات الإيجابية لمجموعة شعرية أولى تبحث عن موقع بين الشعراء الشباب، رغم أن الشاعر مليء بالجروح والتجارب، حيث يخيم الحزن على القصيدة ليحركها باتجاه الطبيعة التي نفتقدها في عصر العولمة الوحشية. عواطف تتدفق لشاعر مهجر ومقتلع من بلدته عجّور/خليل، ولا تتوقف عند عذابات المنفى، فثمة مستقبل يجيء شاعر آخر من جبل الخليل، ينضم إلى القافلة الجنوبية الحزينة، ولكن.. في المنفى.. دم غريب. لا يذهب أحمد أبو سليم، في مجموعته البكر هذه، بعيداً في التجريب، وتوليد الاستعارات البلاغية الذهنية الغريبة والمستهجنة، شأن غالبية الشعراء الشبان هذه الأيام، لهثاً وراء حداثة زائفة، ذلك أنه غني بتجربته، محترق بها. ولأن لديه ما يقوله، تنبني صورته الشعرية على الحسي، متشكلة من عناصر متآلفة تمثل، في مجموعها، الصورة الكلية المتنامية.. ولعل هذه الخصيصة المؤسسة على تداعي التفاعيل، التي يؤازرها تداعي الصور، هي السمة الأبرز على مستوى الشكل في مجموعة يظل فيها الالتزام العفوي بهموم الوطن والإنسان قدر الشاعر الذي لا فكاك له منه على مستوى المضمون.
