صدر عن دار الرسول الأكرم ببيروت، كتاب جديد بعنوان: ( العلامة الشيخ ميثم البحراني..رجل العلم والأخلاق والسياسة )، لمؤلفه: ( العلامة الشيخ عبد الله أحمد اليوسف )، وهذا الكتاب رقم عشرين في قائمة مؤلفات الشيخ اليوسف. يقول المؤلف معرفاً بالعلامة البحراني : كان الشيخ ميثم البحراني ( 636 ـ 699هـ/ 1239ـ 1300م ) عالماً موسوعياً متميزاً، فهو فقيه ومتكلم، وفيلسوف وأديب، وكان متبحراً في جميع العلوم التي صنف فيها، وبقيت كتبه متألقة حتى بعد مرور قرون عليها، لما فيها من أفكار إبداعية، وأسلوب علمي رصين . والمطلوب من أجيال كل عصر أن يكتشفوا علماء عصرهم، وفي أي مجال كان، ويستفيدوا من مواهبهم وقدراتهم العلمية والمعرفية، وأن يوظفوا علمهم فيما ينفع المجتمع ويساهم في تطوير وازدهار العلوم والمعارف. وعندما نقرأ ما كتبه الشيخ ميثم البحراني من كتب قيمة سنرى أنه اتبع منهجاً تقريبياً بين المسلمين ، واستخدم أسلوباً معتدلاً ومنصفاً تجاه المذاهب الإسلامية الأخرى بعيداً عن الشحن المذهبي، أو التعبئة التحريضية تجاه الآخر. فاختلافه مع الآخر لا يلغي احترامه، كما لا يعني قبول رأيه، وإنما تبيان وجهة نظر الطرف الآخر في المسائل الخلافية بكل إنصاف وتجرد، ثم بيان ما يذهب إليه من رأي مركزاً على الدليل والبرهان العلمي. تميز الشيخ ميثم البحراني بأنة عالم موسوعي، وصاحب عطاء معرفي وعلمي متنوع، جمع بين الفقه والفلسفة، كما زاوج بين العرفان والسياسة، والكلام والأدب، وبين المعقول والمنقول، ويعد شرحه لنهج البلاغة من أفضل الشروح العلمية لهذا الكتاب النفيس، إذ استطاع في فترة قصيرة من العمر - نحو ثلاثة وأربعون عاماً -أن يترك لنا مجموعة مهمة من المؤلفات والتصانيف العلمية في أكثر من علم وموضوع فكري . يحتوي هذا الكتاب على ثلاثة فصول : الفصل الأول : الشخصية والسيرة . الفصل الثاني : خطاب الاعتدال . الفصل الثالث : العالم الموسوعي . وقد أنهاه المؤلف بملاحق ووثائق متنوعة . وقد أشار الشيخ اليوسف في مقدمته للكتاب إلى أن الهدف من تأليفه هذا الكتاب هو التعريف بهذا العالم الرباني العلامة الشيخ ميثم البحراني ( من أعلام القرن السابع الهجري ) والذي كان شخصية بارزة، وقد ترك بصماته العلمية، وسيرته الأخلاقية حتى بعد مرور قرون على رحيله. كما يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى إرشاد القراء إلى قراءة مصنفات هذا العالم الموسوعي، والاستفادة من علمه الغزير، ومعارفه المتنوعة. كما أن في خطابه المعتدل، ونَفَسه الوحدوي، وأخلاقياته في التعامل مع الآخر، ما نحن بحاجة ماسة إليه في هذا العصر، وفي كل عصر.
