The Author Book Crying Blood and the author of 37 another books.
حجاج أدول مفكر مصري من مواليد النوبة الإسكندرية 1944 وبدأ الكتابة الأدبية عام 1984، وهو صاحب كتاب لصحوة النوبية، وحصل على جائزة الدولة التشجيعية عام 1990 فرع القصة القصيرة عن مجموعة ليالي المسك العتيقة، وحصل على جائزة ساويرس للأدب المصري عام 2005 في الرواية والقصة القصيرة.
عمل بالسد العالي خمس سنوات، من عام 1963 حتى 1967.
وجند بالقوات المسلحة سبع سنوات من عام 1967 حتى 1974.
اشترك في حرب الاستنزاف وحرب أكتوبر 1973.
وحصل على منحة تفرغ من المجلس الأعلى للثقافة أعوام 96 و97 و98 لاستكمال رواية معتوق الخير، ثم حصل على منحة تفرغ عام 2002 و 2003 لكتابة رواية مملوكية خوند حَمْرة.

أرى الأهرامات الآن، جرمها صغير عن بعد وكأنها تسبح فى الأفق الباهت، نقترب أكثر.. أنظر.. أنظر بإمعان، أدقق النظر، شىء عجيب.. أين الهرم الأكبر، يا حول الله، الهرم ضاع! الهرم يا ناس؟ الركاب لا يبالون بصيحتى. شعرت بالحرج لحظة، لكن لا.. أين الهرم؟ يا سادة.. انظروا معى وارتعبوا.. مصيبة.. أين الهرم الأكبر؟ لا مجيب.. يعود بصرى للهضبة، أرى هرمين فقط يا بشر، هل وصل الداء للهرم؟ عندما انحرف الأوتوبيس يسارا ليتجه إلى قلب القاهرة رأيت الهول الذى لم يحرك أبا الهول ولا الركاب. الهرم الأكبر ملقى على جانبه بميل خطير، قمته تتجه لأسفل وقاعدته الشاسعة لأعلى وكأنه سيستكمل سقوطه من الهضبة فى أية لحظة. وقفت متصلبا أنظر للركاب وأشير بيدى الاثنتين إلى الهرمين وكبيرهما الساقط، ثم نطقت بصوت يخرج ممطوطًا كأنه قطعة لادن ساخنة: الهرم مقلوب.. الهرم مقلوب. لم يلتفت أحد.
