هاشم شفيق واحد من أبرز شعراء السبعينيات في العراق، تميزت تجربته بالغزارة والانتشار وأصدر خلال مسيرته الإبداعية ست عشرة مجموعة شعرية بدأت بقصائد أليفة عام 1978 وانتهت منذ أشهر قليلة بـ هدأة الهدهد، إضافة إلى كتب أخرى في مجال الرواية والنقد والترجمة.
في نهاية السبعينيات غادر هاشم شف شاعر وناقد مواليد العراق 1950 ، خرج من العراق عام 1978 وأقام في كل من باريس ثم بيروت ثم دمشق ثم قبرص وبراغ وأخيرا لندن.
هاشم شفيق واحد من أبرز شعراء السبعينيات في العراق، تميزت تجربته بالغزارة والانتشار وأصدر خلال مسيرته الإبداعية ست عشرة مجموعة شعرية بدأت بقصائد أليفة عام 1978 وانتهت منذ أشهر قليلة بـ هدأة الهدهد، إضافة إلى كتب أخرى في مجال الرواية والنقد والترجمة.
في نهاية السبعينيات غادر هاشم شفيق العراق إلى المنافي ليلتحق بالكثيرين من المثقفين العراقيين الهاربين من القمع وسطوة النظام، بحثا عن الحرية، فدارت به الأرض ودار بها، من دمشق حتى لندن، حيث استقر به المقام أخيرا، بعد العديد من العواصم العربية والأوربية.
- عمل في الصحافة العربية.
- اصدر ستة عشر ديوانا شعريا منها : قصائد أليفة, أقمار منزلية, مشاهد صامتة, غزل عربي, صباح الخير بريطانيا, إضافة إلى رواية باسم بيت تحت السحاب.
- ترجمت أشعاره إلى الفرنسية والإنكليزية والفارسية والكردية والاسبانية والبولندية.
