مدينة القبور، مدينة طاف الكاتب شوارعها في إحدى ليالي صيف 1991، مدينة تجمع تناقضات المجتمع العربي من فاس إلى مسقط، مدينة خيالية مبهرة يقطنها ساسة أثرياء وقوادون وقطاع طرق، ويقيم فيها الفقراء والشرفاء والكاظمين الغيظ والعافين عن الناس، تكفيك ساعتان لتخرج بانطباعات يائسة وصور أليمة لواقع المجتمع الذي يعيش في تلك المدينة، ذاك المجتمع الذي لا يزال يرنو إلى تحقيق مستقبل واعد وتنمية شاملة ومساواة عادلة، لكن ظروف المجتمع سياسيًا واقتصاديًا وإجتماعيًا ونفسيًا تحول دون تحقيق أمانية، مشاهد هذه المدينة محاولة للنظر إلى الجانب الآخر من القضية، تصوير آخر لكل من يرى الصور مقلوبة أو مقبولة، سعى لاخراج هذه المدينة الخرافية من وجع الانتظار ومن إلحاح الذات المعذبة التي تحاول أن ترى الصور على حقيقتها.
