في الليالي السبع التي سبقت حادثة الاختفاء، كان وردي بن يحيى يرى الحلم ذاته يتكرر بكامل تفاصيله كل ليلة، حبلاً من طيور سوداء ينحل وينعقد على صورة خاتم بين عينيه في طحلب السماء· وكان يراها في وضوح صاعق على ارتفاعها الشاهق تنظر إليه وتغمض عيناً وتشد حوصلاتها وتسلح عليه· كانت تشبه "المفشيش" و لم تكن مفشيشاً ولا غرباناً وكانت سوداء، وكانت، كل ليلة، تنعقد بين عينيه على صورة خاتم وتنحل وتطير عالياً وتمّحي في طحلب السماء.
