الانسان جسم وعقل وروح، وقد وهبه الله سبحانه الحواس المختلفة التي بواسطتها يدرك حاجاته الضرورية اللازمة لحياته، وضمان استمرارية بقائها، كما وهبه العقل وهو الآلة المدبرة التي يعتمد عليها في تصريف شؤون حياته. وقد قادت حادثات كالحلم والاغماء، والموت، وغير ذلك الانسان الى فكرة الروح حيث يقص عليهم ما حلم به، فينكر الناس اقواله، لانه لم يتحرك من مكانه فاعتقد انه اثنان، احدهما نائم، اما الثاني فقد خرج، وحدث له ما حدث. وهكذا وصل الانسان إلى فكرة الروح، والتفريق بينها وبين الجسد.
