الكتاب من تقديم بولس الفغالي. الفلسفة المسيحيّة في أرض الإسلام، لم يكتب تاريخها بعد وكتابته تحتاج إلى تضافر جهود العديد من الباحثين، ولا يدّعي كتابنا هذا سدّ هذه الثغرة، إن هو سوى إسهام في هذا المشروع الضخم، وهو يركزّ على التأريخ لتيار فلسفي لم يحظّ حتى اليوم بما يستحقّ من إهتمام: التوماويّة، فقد عرف العالمان العربي والإسلامي مفكّرين توماويين أصيلين لم يكتفوا بترجمة آثار القدّيس توما الأكويني، بل كانت لهم إسهامات لاهوتيّة وفلسفيّة مميّزة. وتعود نشأة التوماويّة في أرض الإسلام إلى القرن السابع عشر وفي القرن الثامن عشر شهدت تطوّراً مميّزاً مع ملافنة أمثال إسحاق بن جبير والمطران الدبسي وفي القرن التاسع عشر وبداية العشرين عرفت الآثار التوماويّة طريقها إلى المطابع مع المطرانين بولس عواد ونعمة الله أبي كرم وغيرهما؛ مالك وعفيف عسيران وغيرهم ترسخ الحضور التوماوي في الفلسفة في أرض الإسلام. وهذا الكتاب يعرض لإسهامات كل هؤلاء وغيرهم ودورهم في الحوار المسيحي الإسلامي وتطوّر نظرة مسيحييّ الشرق إلى الإسلام، إنه خطوة نحو تاريخ منهجي للفلسفة المسيحيّة في بقعة شهدت ظهور هذه الديانة وتطوّراتها العقائدية والفكريّة الأولى .
