ما يقوله فالح الصغير في "عالم الجنون العربي" ربما لا يعبر عن عام واحد فقط، بقدر ما يعبر عن أعوام عديدة متشابهة من الزمن العربي، الذي فقد سريانه، فأصبح يطلق عليه زمناً من باب المجاز لا الوصف، كلمات كثيرة، وموضوعات عديدة يتضمنها الكتاب، تبدو وكأن لا رابط بينها، ولكن خيطاً رفيعاً ينتظم الجميع في عقد بسيط. لا يستخدم فالح تلك الكلمات الفخيمة، والمصطلحات العويصة، والمفاهيم المفرقة في تجريديتها ليثبت أنه مثقف، كما يفعل الكثيرون، ولكنه يعبر عما يجيش في الصدر تجاه أوضاع ينطبق عليها رصف المثل الشعبي "العين بصيرة واليد قصيرة" ولكن إذا كانت اليد قصيرة، فالعين ترى، والروح تعاني، والقلم يعبر... والكلمة الصادقة النابعة من أعماق الذات المجروحة، لا بد أن تصل إلى الذات الأخرى... لقد أفلح فالح في أن يرسم بلكماته صورة جزئية لزمن عربي لا يريد أن يتحرك وينفض الملل عن أنفس يكاد يقتلها السأم وينحرها اليأس... لا يقول فالح شيئاً في هذا الكتاب ولكنه يعبر عما يجيش في نفوس الجميع.
