Book Description

This book teaches Arabic to non-Arab beginners accompanied by a tape. The medium language is English.

In this book, I have aimed at giving an introductory course on Arabic. The material is presented in twenty-eight lessons, each of which centers around a topic. Each lesson contains the following parts:
1-Nouns.Some related nouns are given with their phonemic forms, meanings in English, and Arabic-script forms.
2-Verbs. Some related verbs are given with their pronunciations, meanings, and written forms.
3- Adjectives. Notice here that the adjective in Arabic is considered a noun. But its equivalent is considered an adjective in English.
4-Particles. Here I have given words of interrogation, negation, conjunctions, prepositions, and the like.
5-Sentences. In this part of every lesson, I have presented several sentences as examples of using the words in each lesson. Every sentence is written phonemically and in Arabic letters and its meaning is given in English.
6-Grammar.The sixth part in each lesson deals with one major grammatical pattern with examples and explanation.
7-Practice. Each lesson ends with a part that gives the learner an additional opportunity to practise the language.

The book begins with a list of the symbols that are used in the book, i.e., the phonemic symbols and Arabic letters in their different positions. You can use the book if you know English letters. The phonemic symbols help you pronounce the Arabic words and sentences. If you know these symbols, i.e., the phonemic ones, you can do without knowing Arabic letters.
