يؤكد الكتاب على أن رؤيا الأنبياء وحيُّ من الله تعالى، وأنها حق وصدق ؛ مصداقا لقوله تعالى : ( فلما بلغ معه السعي قال يا بني إني أرى في المنام أني أذبحك فانظر ماذا ترى، قال يا أبت افعل ما تؤمر ستجدني إن شاء الله من الصابرين) ( الصافات 102)، ويجمع الكتاب ما صح عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من منامات، لنتدبر فيها، ولنتعلم من أحكامها، فيتناول الحديث عن المنامات المادية وما أشبهها، وفوائد هذه المنامات المادية، ويتحدث كذلك عن المنامات المعنوية والفوائد منها، ويتناول المنامات التي فسرها النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وكذلك المنامات التي تدور حول عالم الآخرة ويتبع ذلك كله بإيراد بعض الآداب والأحكام التي يحتاج إليها المعبر للمنامات .
