رواية منتصر القفاش "أن ترى الآن" عمل قصير ومحكم. تبدأ بشخص يعن له ذات مرة أن يصور زوجته عارية. وما تلبث حياته في التعقد حين تقع صور زوجته العارية في يد أحدهم فيرسل بنسخة منها إلى الزوج "إبراهيم"، وهو الراوي والبطل الأساسي، الذي يفاجأ بأن ثمة نسخة من الصور لدى كثيرين آخرين، ثم تصل نسخة من الصور إلى الزوجة ذاتها! إلا أن الكاتب يستخدم هذه الحادثة التي تتطور، لمجرد إظهار أزمة البطل الحقيقية وتكثيفها أمامنا. ذلك أن إبراهيم مهدد بالفصل من عمله كما أن قصة الصور تنذر بتقويض حياته العائلية. وهو وإن كان يحيا مع زوجته إلا أن له عشيقة. إنه شخص قلق، مهدد، مصيره معلق بخيط دقيق، وهو ضائع قد يقضي ساعات طوالا في ثرثرة فارغة مع صديقته "سمراء". إنه يتمنى لو استطاع: "بضربات المياه التي يغسل بها وجهه أن يدفع ذلك الوجه إلى الداخل". إنه البطل الذي يحيا من دون أحلام، ولا صدام، ولا أيديولوجية، بطل تكفي مجرد مصادفة أو نزوة عابرة لتدمير حياته. إنه شخصية مسلوبة الإرادة والقدرة، قشة صغيرة قد تقلب حياته كلها رأسا على عقب، وتحيله إلى لا شيء: مجرد كومة من الأعصاب المحترقة .
