موضوع استراتيجيات الخطاب من الموضوعات اللغوية المهمة، وتكمن أهمية في كل مجال الحياة... فللمجتمع سياقات كثيرة، تتطلب خطابات متنوعة، لترضي أهداف الناس المتباينة . لذلك فالحاجة قائمة لاكتشاف هذه الاسترتيجيات، ومعرفة كيفية تطويعهالا واستعمالها، وتطوير ذوات الناس التخاطبية بما يواكب متطلبات السياق وما يكفل التكيف مع تقلباته. ونحن أولى المجتمعات بذلك في حياتنا الثقافية، لما للخطاب من دور في تقريب وجهات النظر وإيضاح الحقائق وتوجيه الناس صوب الوجهة التي نرتضيها.كما أن توظيف الاستراتيجيات ضروري للدعوة وتبادل الأفكار بين الناس بل غداً ضرورة في كل مرافق الحياة.ورغم أهمية هذا الموضوع فهو لم يلق العناية، ولم يحظ بدراسة مستقلة في اللغة العربية ثبرز خصائصه، وتظهر دقائقة، لا في الدراسات القديمة ولا في الدراسات المعاصرة، فضلاً عن تخصيصه بدراسة مستقلة.وقد كان هذا التصور العام في الدراسات اللغوية حافزاً على المبادرة إلى دراسة استراتيجيات الخطاب في ضوء المنهج التداولي على اختلاف محاوره ومحاولة من المؤلف لسد الفراغ في المكتبة العربية وحتى الغربية في هذا المجال.
