إن للتاريخ عيناً ترى كل ظاهرة وخافية، وذاكرة تحفظ كل كبيرة وصغيرة، وأذناً تسمع همس النجوى وتعي خفقان القلوب، وله لسان يجول في إقدام من أقدم، وإحجام من أحجم، وعطاء من أعطى، وأخذ من أخذ. ولسان هذا التاريخ وإن لم يقل بعد كلمة الحق والصدق، فهو لابد قائلها في كل من أدى الأمانة، وجهد في صون كرامة هذه الأمة، وفي كل من أغرق في الخيانة، وحاول مرغ جبهتها في طين المذلة اللازب. وصوت هذا التاريخ سيظل يدوي في مسامع العصور والدهور، راوياً قصة كل من أسهم في دفع هذه الأمة إلى مهاوي الهزيمة، ومع هذا فهي لم تهزم، إنما قنعت بقناع الهزيمة عندما أخرج لؤم الاستعمار ودهاؤه تمثيليةً صب في أسطرها كل ما في عمق ضغائنه من حقد، وكل ما في نواياه من لؤم،فأتقن أداء أدوارها على مسارح الأحداث أصنام أقزام، تحركهم من وراء الأستار أصابع خفية بخيوط اللعب والتلاعب، والذين زادوا في تقزيم أنفسهم عندما صغروها وحقروها ليكبروا إسرائيل ويهولوا من أمرها. وما من شك في أن هؤلاء جميعاً لا يريدون للمشكلة الفلسطينية أن تحل عقدتها، ولا للأمة العربية أن ترتفع راية نصرها، ولا لإسرائيل أن تقتلع أسافينها من هذا الوطن العربي. وهل يخفى على أحد من العالمين، مهما ضؤل إدراكه، ومهما قلَّ فهمه أنهم جميعاً بتبجح إعلامهم يظهرون غير ما يضمرون، وأنهم جميعاً بمحاولة خدعهم لشعوبهم، يقولون بألسنتهم ما ليس في قلوبهم. فإلى ذلك التاريخ الذي سيقول كلمته فيمن أضاعوا فلسطين وباعوها، ومن أقاموا إسرائيل وأداموها، وأفسحوا المجال لها لتشتد وتمتد، أقدم هذه الأنهر الظمأى.
