الوصية أمانة الموصي ونصيحته، والعمل بها أمانة المستوصى وفريضته، ومن أوصى فقد هدى، ومن هدى فقد أرشد، ومن أرشد فقد دلّ، ومن دلّ فقد وصل، ومن أوصل فقد منّ على المستوصى وفريضته. وفي هذا الكتاب جمع المؤلف جملة من الوصايا الخالدة التي قدمها السابقون من السلف الصالح، التي هي لبّ عصارة أفكارهم وتجاربهم وخبراتهم. وهذه الوصايا تأتي بمثابة حكم تصل إلى العقل والذهن والقلب، لتغذي الروح بما ينفع، وبما يفيد، وبما لا يوقع في المهالك.
يشتمل على وصايا السابقين من سلفنا الصالح التي هي لُبُّ عُصارة أفكارهم وتجاربهم وخبراتهم. والوصية أمانة الموصي ونصيحته، والعمل بها أمانة المستوصَى وفريضته.
واعلم أن من أوصاك فقد هداك، ومن هداك فقد أرشدك، ومن أرشدك فقد دلَّك، ومن دلَّك فقد أوصلك، ومن أوصلك فقد منَّ عليك، وأحسن كل الإحسان إليك.
ما بالك والوصية والنصيحة والحِكَم تصل إلى عقلك وذهنك وقلبك، دون جهد منك أو تعب، لتغذِّي روحك بما ينفع، وبما يفيد، وبما لا يوقع في المهالك.
فالوصيَّة من الحكيم أو المعلم، أو المربِّي، أو الأب، أو الأم، أو القائد، هي نور وهداية للمرء، فإن كان حكيماً أخذ بالوصية، وعمل بمضمونها، وحرص على تنفيذها تنفيذاً سليماً؛ ليصل إلى العمل الصالح المطلوب، وإلى الصواب المنشود، وإلى الثواب الموعود.
