الحمد لله الذي شرع لعباده ما فيه صلاحهم في دنياهم وسعادتهم في أخراهم، وأشهد أن لا إله إلاّ الله القائل وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله، بلّغ الرسالة وأدّى الأمانة ونصح الأمة وتركها على المحجة البيضاء ليلها كنهارها لا يزيغ عنها إلاّ هالك، اللهّم لا سهل إلا ما جعلته سهلا، وأنت تجعل الحزن إذا شئت سهلا. اللهم صلّ على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وأصحابه، ومن دعا بدعوته وجاهد في سبيله إلى يوم الدين. أما بعد: فإن موضوع تعدد الزوجات شغل بال الكثير من الناس ولا يزال يشغل بال العديد من العلماء والمفكرين في العصر الحديث، ويُعتبر من وجهة نظرهم مشكلة يجب علاجها، وقد اختلفوا فيه: 1- فذهب فريق منهم: إلى أن الأصل إباحة التعدد الذي جاء به التنزيل، وعمل به الصحابة الكرام، ومن سار على طريقهم من بعدهم، ويرى هذا الفريق أن مذهب السلف في التعدد هو الطريق الصحيح، ويمثّل هذا الرأي الإمامان محمود شلتوت ومحمد أبو زهرة ــ رحمهما الله. 2- وذهب فريق ثانٍ من المفكرين: إلى أن "من حقّ الحاكم أن يمنع تعدد الزوجات مطلقاً، أو يقيّد جوازه بشرط" كما صرح بذلك قاسم أمين، وكذلك يرى صديقه الشـيخ محمد رشـيد رضا ــ تلميذ الأسـتاذ الإمام محمد عبده: "أن للإمام أن يمنع تعدد الزوجات إذا فشا ضرره وكثرت مفاسده". 3- وذهب فريق ثالث إلى تقييد تعدد الـزوجات، ويمثّل هذا الرأي الأسـتاذ الإمـام "محمد عبده" ــ رحمه الله ــ وتلاميذه أيضاً، حيث يرى: "أن إباحة تعدد الزوجات أمر مُضيّق فيه أشد التضييق". ويتفق الفريق الثاني والثالث ــ دعاة الإصلاح الاجتماعي والديني في مصر ــ على أن تعدد الزوجات مباح للضرورة. وسأناقش هذه المسألة ــ إن شاء الله تعالى ــ من خلال البحث.
