المنهج التكويني الذي تذهب إليه هذه الدراسة ليس هو "النقد التكويني" الذي عُني نقاده بدراسة الأعمال الإبداعية إنطلاقاً من خطاطاتها الأولى (المسودات والتغييرات التي طرأت عليها) والكشف عن سيناريو كتاب العمل قبل أن يصل إلى الملتقي في صورته المطبوعة الأخيرة، إنما هو معني بما قبل الطباعة مما له صلة بالعمل الفني ومنه الأدبي.
هذه الدراسة، تنطلق من حقيقة أن كل عمل إبداعي - بحسب جنسه ونوعه - يتكوّن من مجموعة مكونات ثابتة هي بنيات دالة عامة تتكون من عناصر متعددة كثيرة وحين تنفتح على النص تلحظ كأنها (لامتناهية)، ومن ثمة يمكن الإنطلاق من تأملها وكشفها وقراءتها تركيزاً على حضورها الدال في العمل الإبداعي.
