ينفرد هذا الكتاب بشرح اشتقاق أسماء الله تعالى عز وجل وصفاته المأثورة التي من أحصاها دخل الجنة، ويذكر تصاريفها واللغات فيها، ومصادرها على مذاهب أهل العربية، حسبما رواها أهل العلم، واستنبطوها بعد الرواية بشواهد من كتاب الله عز وجل، فاستخرجوها منه لئلا يعارض فيها شك، ولا يختلج في الصدور زيغ في التصديق بها على مذاهب العلماء باللغة العربية، العارفين بأساليب كلام العرب واشتقاقه وتصاريفه، من غير عدول عن مذاهب العرب في ذلك خاصة.
وينتهي الكتاب بالقول في اشتقاق الاسم، والفرق بين الاسم والنعت، والنعت والوصف، ووجوه النعت في كلام العرب، ومضامين صفات الله عز وجل، وموقعها من ذلك، وذكر القول في اشتقاق النبي ومذاهب العلماء في ذلك.
