أن تكون سعيداً في الحياة، ليس معناه أن تكون غنياً، هذا ما تقوله رواية "جنة جابر" للكاتب والروائي "عبد العزيز الزعابي". يبدأ الكاتب عمله فيما يشبه رسالة إلى قارئه يقول له فيها (إلى من أحس أن الفرصة في الحياة قد انتهت، أقول له أن الفرصة لم تنتهِ، ولا زالت متاحة لكل البشر). يرصد الكاتب حياة نموذجين من البشر "صابر" وحكمته في الحياة – القناعة كنز لا يفنى- و "جابر" وهدفه في الحياة جمع المال ليس أكثر. يعيش الإثنان في مدينة الصوف، الناس في هذه المدينة على جهل مما يحدث خارجها، فلا داعي لمعرفة الأخبار في الخارج، المهم أنهم يعيشون، بأفراحهم، وأحزانهم يعيشون، على خيارهم وأشرارهم معتادون، بأبقارهم وأغنامهم يفتخرون، فلماذا التطرّق إلى معرفة المدن البعيدة؟ فهي خارج نطاق التغطية الإعلامية، التي اخترقها التجار الذين يزورون مدينة الصوف، يبيعون فيها ويشترون ... ولا بأس ببعض أخبار أصقاع الأرض، تصل إلى المدينة عن طريق التجار ... ولكنها لا تهم أهل مدينة الصوف، فمدينتهم هي جنتهم، لا يبتغون عنها بديلاً ...
