"أن إيمان الناس بأهمية طب الإعشاب ما زال قوياً وراسخاً بحيث تجد الأدوية العشبية والمشتقات الحيوانية والمعدنية تباع وتستخدم في جميع الدول ، ونظراً لذلك فقد اهتمت شركات الأدوية العالمية بالأعشاب والنباتات كمصدر مهم للأدوية، فمثلاً: شركة غلاسكو وهي اكبر شركة لصناعة الأدوية تقوم بفحص 13000 نبتة كل أسبوع بحثاً عن مكونات ذات فائدة محتملة في العلاج، ومن هنا أصدرت منظمة الصحة العالمية دليلها عام 1992م حول تنظيم طب الإعشاب، لقد أدى هذا التطور الكبير في هذه الصناعة وإقبال الناس عليها إلى زيادة الاهتمام العالمي بها، لذا كانت هذه الموسوعة وافية بالغرض من حيث الالتزام بالبحث العلمي الدقيق، وسهولة الأسلوب، وتقريب المعلومة، ووضوح المعنى، كما أنها تلفت الانتباه إلى الأضرار المترتبة على استخدام الأعشاب الموجودة لدى العطارين، والتي لا تتوافر فيها الشروط الصحية. تألفت هذه الموسوعة من جزأين، الأول يبحث في الإمراض وعلاجها من الإعشاب الطبية، والثاني تعريف بتلك النباتات وأوصفها فها وأشكالها واستعمالاتها لذا فأنها من أهم الموسوعات التي سوف تسهم في إثراء المكتبة العربية وتوعية القارئ بالاستعمال الأمثل للأدوية العشبية"
