الماضي لا يمضي، لا يغيب كلياً. إنه يعيش معك، في داخلك. ويتعايش مع حاضرك مشكلاً رؤاك وأحلامك. الماضي هو جذرك. أول كل شيء. مجموعة تجارب متراكمة تشكل حقيقتك وواقعك. أحياناً يكون مهيمناً ومسيطراً، أحياناً يأتي على هيئ شذرات، شظايا، وبصورة إستحواذية أقل. في كل الأحوال، لا تستطيع أن تنفصل عنه، أن تنقطع عنه، وحتى إذا حاولت، بطريقة أو بأخرى، فإنه يرتادك من حيث لا تدري ولا تتوقع. رائحة ما، صوت ما، وجه ما... يعدو بك في لمحة على عالم كنت تظن أنه تلاشى منذ أن غادرته... عالم الطفولة أو المراهقة... مرحلة لا تعود تحتفظ بتماسكها المادي، إنما تقدم نفسها في شكل أجزاء منفصلة تبدو أحياناً ميتافيزيقية. فانت لا تعود إلى الكل، بل إلى الجزء... الجزء الأكثر حضوراً لأنه الأكثر تأثيراً. الحنين إلى الماضي هو حنين إلى ماهو مفقود في الحاضر. الأشياء التي كنت تعيشها وتختبرها وتراها، ولم تعد موجودة أو يصعب إستعادتها. إنه، بمعنى ما، إحساس بإنعدام التناغم والإنسجام مع أحد مظاهر الحاضر. وكلما إزدادت الضغوطات تكاثر الحنين. النوستالجيا ضرورية إلى حد ما، لكنها مؤلمة، لأنها تنبع في أغلب الأحيان من موقف أو وضع أو شعور مؤلم، ولأنها أيضاً عبور مؤقت إلى إقليم قد يجد فيه الراحل إلى هناك نوعاً من الطمأنينه والراحة... غير أنها طمأنينة زائلة. كاتب وتأملات وأفكار هاربة من الإسار، تأخذ شكل كلمات وعبارات... بهندسة أقل... وخرائط أقل... فليس للفكر هندسة... وليس له من خرائط... تنبعث إشعاعات الفكر بتلقائية، إنما تجعلها العبارات ضمن أطر مقروءة، هكذا أراد الكاتب لأفكاره الإنطلاق... بعد عملية قراءة لاواعية وربما واعية لما حوله... وفيما خوله... هوذا يقرأ من خلال تأملاته في اللغة والجسد والوجه، كما يقرأ في الذاكرة والنوستالجيا والمكان، وتلك هي قراءة لطفولة العنف والهوية ولمخلوقات الصمت والوطن والسفر والمنفى... ثم المزيد ولا مزيد... قراءات شتى تأخذك في إستشفافاتها في إنسياباتها ضمن إسترسالات محببة، تدخل الكاتب في حالة الإبداع، وتأخذ القارىء إلى واحات فكر فلسفي خصب، مستساغ فكراً وأسلوباً ولغة.
