"العقل المختلّ" هو توصيف وتشخيص لما يحدث وما يمكن حدوثه في الأفق الأمريكيّ بين بوش، الّذي كان، وأوباما في مخاض أن يكون، أمام معترك ذواتنا التي تمتحن بالنقد، وإنّه معترك أقلّ من محليّ إلى حدّ الإنقساميّة الشديدة حيناً أو إنه أحياناً أكبر من دوليّ، ولكن تبقى بلدان العرب ومحيطها الشرق أوسطيّ ميداناً لذلك المعترك عقوداً عدة.
