ولد عام 1960 بالقاهرة.
حاصل على بكالوريوس الهندسة - القسم المدني - جامعة القاهرة.
يعمل مديراً لإدارة التفتيش الفني بهيئة تعاونيات البناء والإسكان بمدينة نصر.
عضو اتحاد الكتاب بمصر, ومجلس إدارة ندوة شعراء العروبة, وسكرتير جمعية العقاد الأدبية.
نشر أعماله في العديد من الصحف والمجلات المصرية والعربية.
دواوينه الشعرية: نقوش على شفتين 1985 - قدمت للحب استقالة 1991 - لولاي ماكنت أنثى 1993 - صائدة القلوب 1995.
ممن كتبوا عنه: محمد عبدالمطلب, الطاهر مكي, يوسف نوفل, عبدالعزيز شرف.

يتميز هذا الكتاب بأسلوب في غاية خفية الظل والقدرة الفائقة الموفقة على الصياغة في قالب "المقامات".. وهو قالب افتقدناه كثيراً في الأدب العربي المعاصر.
كما يبرز هذا الكتاب أيضاً مقدرة مؤلفه الأستاذ ياسر قطامش على قرض "الشعر الفكاهي" الذي كان سائداً في العقود الأولى من القرن العشرين، والذي كان يطلق عليه "الشعر الحلمنتيشي" ومن رواده الكبار المعروفين الأساتذة: بيرم التونسي.. وحسين شفيق المصري.. ومصطفى حمام.. وعبد السلام شهاب.. وغيرهم.
ويتضمن الكتاب 70 مقامة، تتناول كل واحدة منها موضوعاً من النقد الساخر لعديد من السلوكيات المعيبة دون شطط أو إسفاف.
