"لم أتوقع، عندما بدأت قراءة قصائدك، الدخول في العالم الذي أدخلتيني فيه. وعندما انتهيت من قراءتها بقيت ساكناً صامتاً فترة طويلة قبل أن أعود إلى مجرى حياتي العادية.
وأصارحك القول إنني تركتها بعد ذلك أياماً طويلة على الطاولة لا أجرؤ على الاقتراب منها. ثم عدت إلى قراءتها من جديد وأعدت قراءتها مرات ومرات تخرجني في كل مرة من حياتي المسطحة الباهتة وتجذبني نحو أعماق الأسى والأمل التي لا قعر لها، وأغوص وأغوص فيها حتى أفقد حسي بالأشياء وتتلاشى حدود الزمان والمكان ويختلط الوجود بالعدم والحضور بالغياب والظاهر بالباطن والعالم المرئي بالعالم اللامرئي.
وتمر أمام عيني أطياف كل الرجال والنساء، الذي يعود وأنت تتصورينه قد عبر إلى الضفة الأخرى والذين يعودون أشباحاً يسكنون غرف البيت، أو ظلاً أو ضوءاً مثل الشمس أو يسكنون ركناً هادئاً من صخرة أو محارة أو قلب نجمة، ويصبح الفقيد ريحاً أو سحاباً في المساء أو فراشة أو نسمة أو خيط شمس ويشق صوته الأرض سنابل قمح ذهبية وزنابق من كتب الشعر.
والراحل في كل مكان، يرقد في الجدران ويستفيق، وفي كل واحد من أحبائه جزء منه، فإذا اجتمعوا والتأم الشمل، يصمتون ليسمعوا خطاه. وهو الذي تشتد بغربة فقدانه الغربة. ولكنه في كل مكان وينثال في ذاكرتك حماماً وطفلين في حوض زجاجي وقارباً من خشب. ويمكن لروحه أن توصل بين الماضي والحاضر، فيعبر وجهه دجلة ثم يلامس راحتك تاركاً فيها بلورة من ماء القرى النائمات. وعندما أصل إلى صفحتي "بين بين" أقرأهما صامتاً بلا حراك، وأكاد أن أطفئ الأنوار لأترك روح الراحل تغيب بسلام".
هزمت بنا الأرض لم تبق السماء لنا رمق طارت على كل الجهات عباءتي منسوجة بخيوط نار.. حملت على ريش الجناحين اللذين تعاندا شعباً ينام على ورق.
