الشاعر علي الجلاوي شاعر بحريني معاصر ولد بمدينة المنامة 1975م، تميز شعره بالثورية في أول حياته ثم أخذ المنحى الإنساني. يعيش في البحرين ومن أشهر مؤلفاته ديوان (دلمونيات)،بدأ يكتب الشعر في سن الرابعة عشرة، اعتقل لأول مرة في سن السابعة عشرعن قصيدة انتقد فيها الوضع القائم في البحرين، ثم اعتقل مرة أخرى في الأحداث الحقوقية التي عصفت بالبحرين منذ عام 1995 حتى العام 1998م.

"رأيتك تجلس حين قلبت الكتاب، تباحثت وابن عطاء عن الحب، فانغرستْ في يديك المدينة، كانت بسرَّتها جنةٌ من خطايا تمر عليها السلامْ. رأيتك، لمْ ينكر الصمت أني رأيتك في (النهج) تقرأ وجه الفضيلة تقرأ ما قد تيسر في الحب، يا سيدي كيف الحزنِ كانت مدائن فيك تنام، وكلّ العدالة، أني رأيت جبينك من دمها، واحتفلت خطئيتك الآن أكبر، وماذا تقول إذا انقطع الحب عن دمها، ماذا تصير إليه؟ امدائن حاصرها الانهزام؟ العدل يا سيدي يضع الأمر موضعه، والألى عدلوا نظروا باطن الأمر، إذ نظر الناس ظاهره، واستلذوا على (زمكان) المقام".
