قسم السماء شوارع، واختار منها شارعين، وبنى على ناصيتهما بيتًا كبيرًا واسعًا، وسكب فى شوارع أخرى مياه البحر الكبير الذى كان يحلم بتخطيه إلى القارة المقابلة، صنع من السحب قاربًا شراعيًا، اختبره فوجده متماسكًا كما لو كان مصنوعًا من الخشب والحبال الغليظة، انحنى وتفحص وجه الجميلات الجالسات على المقاهي يطلقن من أفواههن الدخان، ثم انتقى واحدة منهن فى خياله، وعاد إلى المنزل فى المطل على البحر، فوجدها تنتظره، وترحب به فى عناق طالما حلم به ولم يتحقق. 21 قصة فى شوارع السماء يتنقل فيها وجدى الكومي بين أبطاله المختلفين، مابين رجل الأوكازيون ورجل البطاطس، وسيدة الياقوت و المجنونة صاحبة السطوة، قبل أن يكتشف السر الكامن وراء كاتب قصص الجنود. ورغم اختلاف تيمة القصص، فإنه يجمع بينها قدرة الكاتب على إلتقاط التفاصيل الصغيرة ونسجها بمهارة ليفتح أمام القارئ طريقًا طريقًا للمتعة والتوقف أمام العديد من المشاعر المغايرة بين الدهشة والتأمل، الفرح والحزن، واكتشاف طاقات وطرق جديدة غير مأهولة فى شوارع السماء.
