إن بناء الأمم يقوم على عاتق الرجال المؤهلين المخلصين لمجتمعاتهم ولأممهم، فما الأمم العظيمة إلا من صنع رجال عظماء، ولعلّ هذا المعنى هو الذي يشير إليه عليه الصلاة والسلام بقوله: "إن الله يبعث لهذه الأمة على رأس كل مائة سنة من يجدد لها امر دينها".
وإصلاح المجتمعات لا يتم إلا من خلال أناس مصلحين، على مختلف أنواع الإصلاح، ومنها الإصلاح الديني والخُلقي، أما بالتذكير أو الوعظ والإرشاد، وإما بالتعليم ونقل المعرفة إلى من يجهلها، عبر دعاة عرفوها حقّ المعرفة، وأتقنوا فنونها علماً وعملاً، ثم عقدوا العزم على نقلها للآخرين.
فالدعوة لا تقتصر مادتها على الوعظ والإرشاد والتذكير فحسب؛ (وهو أمر مطلوب لا شك، ويمارسه كثير من الناس) ولكنها إلى جانب ذلك حركة علمية وعملية، تقوم وترتكز على قواعد وأسس، ولها أهدافها ومقاصدها، وطرقها وأساليبها، ولهذه الأهمية فتحت بعض الجامعات كليّات علمية متخصصة بهذا العلم، وبعضها أدرجت مادة الدعوة ضمن موادها المقررة، ومناهجها المرسومة.
وهذا الكتاب "منهجية علم الدعوة" هو حصيلة جهد سنوات أمضاها المؤلف في تدريس هذه المادة، فجاء هذا الكتاب في ثلاثة أبواب، على الشكل التالي:
-الباب الأول: حقيقة منهجية علم الدعوة ويشمل تعريفات الدعوة وأصولها ومناهجها، وأهدافها وتاريخها، وأركانها.
-الباب الثاني: ويتحدث عن أساليب الدعوة، ووسائلها، وأنواعها الداخلية والخارجية.
-أما الباب الثالث: فالكلام فيه عن مشكلات الدعوة وأنواعها سواء كان من مستواها الداخلي أو الخارجي، ونماذج مقترحة للعلاج.
