تُعدّ هذه الرحلة أول سجل موثق لمسار الحجاج الكويتيين بوساطة الجمال,رصد فيه الكاتب حركة القافلة بالساعة والدقيقة منذ خروجها من الكويت نحو حفر الباطن فمدينة بريدة فالمدينة المنورة فمكة المكرمة ثم العودة عبر سهل ركبة فمرّان وضَريَّة إلى مدينة بريدة ومنها إلى الكويت في رحلة استغرقت نحو ثلاثة أشهر. وقد قدم الكاتب وصفا دقيقا لمعالم الطريق ومراحله المختلفة والظاهرات الطبيعية التي مرّ بها كالأودية والجبال والنباتات,وهو أمر لا نجده عند كثير ممن سجل رحلته لحج بيت الله الحرام ,فأغلبهم يركز على المناسك والمشاهد في كل من مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة ,أما الطريق فكانت أوصافهم لها عامة لا تقف عند التفصيلات الدقيقة لمسار الرحلة.
