قدم هذا الكتاب على شكل بحث تخرج لنيل شهادة البكالوريوس من الجامعة العالمية للعلوم الاسلامية في لندن لو القينا نظرة فاحصة في التاريخ الاسلامي نجده مسرحاً لكثير من الصراعات السياسية ، فما ان القى النبي الاكرم صلى الله عليه وآله عصا الرحيل الى جوار ربه حتى بدأت يد التفرقة تحرك رحى الجاهلية العمياء ، وراحت عيون العصبية تتفجر في صدور بعض المسلمين ، وتنبع بتلك العادات القديمة التي حاربها الاسلام . وهنا بدأت الزعامات القبلية والعصبية الجاهلية تسير المسلمين فكثير منهم ابتعد عن الصراط المستقيم في هذه الفترة ولم يتمسك بحبل الله المتين والقرآن المبين الذي لم يترك صغيرة ولا كبيرة الابينها لهم ، اضافة الى ابتعادهم عن السنة الشريفة التي بينت كل ماهو متعلق بشؤون الامة الاسلامية ، فالنبي الاكرم صلى الله عليه وآله كان دائماً يؤكد على حقيقة هامة وهي وحدة هذه الامة حيث قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله ((إني تارك فيكم الثقلين كتاب الله وعترتي اهل بيتي ماإن تمسكتم بهما لن تظلوا بعدي ابداً )
