إن الأدب الحق هو الذي يعمّق فهم الإنسان لواقعهِ وتناقضاته أو يجدّد وعيه وتصوراته للأشياء والظواهر، ويكشف عن حقيقة العلاقة بين الذات والعالم من جهة وعلاقة الذات بالمجتمع لأن الأدب – في جوهره – رؤية تأملية عميقة تتجاوز سطحية الأشياء وهشاشة الحياة اليومية التي كثيراً ما يشوهها ضباب علاقات وقيم ترسبت عبر عصور سحيقة وتوارثتها الأجيال جيلاً بعد جيل، مما يسمح لنا بوصف تلك العلاقات والقيم، بأنها ذات طبيعة آلية / لا شعورية تعمل على غير ما وعي منا، ولذا فإنها كثيراً ما تكون عوامل كبح وتأجيل تكبل الوعي الطموح مقيدة إياه إلى صخرة، التحجر والجمود، ولعل هذه الجدلية هي التي تكوّن نواة الصراع الثقافي في كل المجتمعات، بين هيمنة القديم بكل ترسباته المتموضعة في الذاكرة الاجتماعية المهيمنة من جهة ونزعات الانفتاح والتحرر من أوزار القديم وانغلاقه، انسجاماً مع مجتمع توّاق إلى التقدم والانطلاق نحو تحولات ثقافية وحضارية شاملة.
