نجد في هذه الرسالة الحقائق المسيحية العملية المباشرة والحق الإلهي الناصع الخاص بالمسيح والكنيسة. وفيها دروس غنية جداً مما يجب أن يكون عليه المؤمن كفرد وما يجب أن تكون عليه الكنيسة. فالرسالة عبارة عن صيدلية فيها كل أصناف الأدوية بحيث نجد بها دواء لكل مرض لأن كلمة الله كاملة وفيها كل ما يلزم للتعليم والتوبيخ للتقويم والتأديب الذي في البر لكي يكون إنسان الله كاملاً متأهبا لكل عمل صالح (2 تي 3 :16 ، 17 ). ولان مدينة كورنثوس كانت تهتم بالعلم والحكمة والفلسفة وغارقة في الشر والفساد وإلنحطاط الأدبي فتأهب الرسول متسلحا بنية معينة وهي "لأني لم أعزم أن أعرف شيئاً بينكم إلا يسوع المسيح واياه مصلوباً".
