عندما أصبت بسرطان الثدي حرصت على أن يعرف أبنائي بمرضي مباشرة ويدركوا أن هذا ابتلاء من الله و رسالة حب حتى يعطينا الأجر و الثواب. عرفت بمرضي في شهر ابريل عام 2006م وشعرت أن مرضي محنة لابد من تحويلها الى منحة وذلك باستثمارها الأستثمار الأمثل وفعلا أصبحت رسالتي في الحياة توعية الناس بهذا المرض و تشجيعهم على الخروج من دائرة الصمت وتشجيعهم على الفحص المبكر. وجدت في معاناتي صديقه تساندني دائما و تحتضنني و تقبلني فأشعر بالحب و الرضا, هذه الصديقه هي ابنتي "اسراء", فاجأتني اسراء بابداعاتها في مجال التوعيه بالسرطان بأعمال فنيه و مساعدتي في التحضير لبرامج التوعيه وكان أهم ابداعاتها هذه القصة التي كتبتها بنفسها وهي ابنة 10 سنوات تحكي فيها ببساطه عن مشاعرها أثناء رحلتها معي في مرضي... فشكرا لك ياشريكتي يا إسراء الدكتورة/سامية العمودي
