بين أيدينا الجزء الثاني من كتاب "خطوة خطوة" المخصص لتعليم العربية بين صفوف الروضة الثانية، وهو يستكمل الجزء الأول الذي خصص لصفوف الروضة الأولى في تحقيق هدف استخدام العربية لغة تواصل وتعبير حية. وقد جاء الجزء الثاني في أربعة أقسام: أولاً: كتاب القصص (في ثلاث أجزاء)، ثانياً: كتاب التلميذ (في ثلاثة أجزاء)، ثالثاً: كتاب الحروف، رابعاً: كتاب المعلم. وقد تم المحافظة في هذا الجزء على روحية الجزء الأول، من تطبيق نظرية الذكاء المضاعف، إلى تعزيز تداخل المواد، إلى ربط القصص والتعابير بالحياة اليومية للمتعلم، إلى تعزيز مخزون لغوي بسيط وعملي ومنطقي في ذاكرته. كما راعينا التدرج المرتبط بمهارات المتعلمين نسبة إلى تطورهم العمري في تعلم الحروف، فبعد أن تعرفوا إلى الحروف شكلاً وصوتاً في الجزء الأول، سيتعرفون إليها قراءة وكتابة في هذا الجزء.
