كان تعليم القراءة من المهمات العسيرة على الأهل والمعلمين وكان الأطفال يرون في حروف الألفباء رموزاً غريبة، ويجدون مشقة في تعلمها، ومما لا شك فيه أن كثرة الأساليب التي درج عليها المربون في تعليم القراءة عقدت مشكلة بدل أن تسهلها. انطلاقا من هنا، شعرت بالحاجة إلى وضع كتابي هذا "المدخل إلى القراءة العربية المهيأ لأطفال المرحلة الثانية من الحضانة، وحاولت أن أجعل منه معرضا يساعد الأطفال على صعود سلم القراءة العربية درجة درجة، بلذة وشوق، وببراعة وإتقان مطبقة بذلك الأسلوب الحديث للتعلم والتربية، الذي يقوم على: أولاً: الطريقة النظرية الصوتية:حيث يتعرف على حروف العربية من خلال اللوحات والصور. فكل حرف يتم التعرف عليه من خلال لوحة مميزة تمثل موضوعاً لطيفاً ومحبباً إلى قلب الطفل. ثانياً: الطريقة العملية التطبيقية: حيث يتعلم الطفل أن يربط الكلمة من خلال الأحرف التي تعلمها، وهكذا يبدأ بقراءة الكلمات. ثالثاً: الطريقة الفنية الجمالية: حيث يشاهد الطفل أجمل الصور المألوفة الواضحة، ويجذبه جمالها، ويستطيع أن يحزر الكلمة بمجرد النظر ‘لى الصورة قبل قراءتها. وقد حرصت على أن يجيء الحرف المراد تعلمه بلون مختلف فتتوافر في الكتاب كل عناصر التشويق والتناسق والانسجام، أضق إلى ذلك القصائد البسيطة التي تطعم بعض الدروس وتفي على الكتاب العنصر الموسيقي في قوافيها، كما ترى في القصيدة المقابلة.
