لقد أجمع أهل العلم في كلِّ عصر ومِصْر : أنَّ « صحيح البخاري » أصحّ كتاب تحت أديم السَّماء بعد كتابِ الله تعالى ، فليس فوقه إلاّه ، ودونه ما عداه . لذلك كان هذا الكتاب المبارك ممَّا توافر على قراءته وتدريسه أولو العلم قاطبة ؛ إدراكاً منهم بعظم مكانته ، وكثرة فوائده ، ولِمَا له من أهميَّة كبرى ؛ فهو في باب السُّنَّة ، عظيم الجدوى ؛ لاشتماله على جَمْع الأصحّ والصحيح ، ولا سيَّما أن مؤلِّفه أمير المؤمنين في الحديث . وكان من البدهي أن يُعْنَى به المُحَدِّثون ، ويقوم بضبط رواياته المحقِّقون ، ويسهر على تحصيله المتخصِّصون المدقِّقون ، وينبري لإيضاحه واستنباط أحكامه المتفقِّهون الرَّاسخون ، فحَظِيَ بالعناية الفائقة من كلِّ جهة وناحية ، وتعدَّدت طبعاته ، وعمَّت نفحاته . ولما للطبعة الأميريَّة من مزيَّة ، إذ هي أصحُّ الطَّبعات وأجلّها في هذه الأزمان ، باتِّفاق أهل الحذق والإتقان .. رأينا إعادة طبعها ، ولكن مع ضمِّ مزايا أُخرى إليها ؛ ليجتمع في هذه الطَّبعة من الفوائد المنتقاة ، والجواهر المتصيَّدة ما لا يوجد في غيرها من الطَّبعات الأُخرى . أضف إلى ذلك : أنَّ هذه الطَّبعة اعتمدت على أصل عظيم تواطأ المُحَدِّثُون على دقَّته وضبطه ، وهو نسخة الحافظ اليُونيني رحمه الله ، إضافة إلى مزايا جمَّة ، تتلألأ بها صفحات هذا الجامع المبارك ، ومنها : ـ تلك المقدمة الضافية ، التي ترسل أشعة البيان على الجامع ، ومُصَنِّفه ، ورُوَاتِه ، وغير ذلك . ـ وتلك الجهود المتعلِّقة بذكر مواطن الحديث في أشهر شروحه ، وبيان أطرافه مقترنة بأرقامها ، والإشارة إلى من أخرجه من أصحاب الكتب السِّتَّة المعتمدة . وليس من المبالغة إذا قلنا : إن هذه الطَّبعة هي واسطةُ العقد بين الطَّبعات ؛ لاشتمالها على فوائد مهمَّات ، وإشارات جليَّات ، مع أناقة الطَّبع ، وجودة الإخراج .
