"في سجون التعذيب، يغتصب الرجل كما المرأة، لا فرق". هي رواية المسكوت عنه، في وطن حاول أن يوهمنا أن نستر لحمنا المغتصب بالصمت، فكانت مريم، ذاكرة الأمهات العربيات اللواتي علقن أبنائهن على مشاجب القهر، ووقفن كسنديانة عتيقة يحرسن الانتظار. وظللن يزرعن أبناءهن في الحدائق الخلفية للوطن، لكي لا تنمحي ذاكرة الحلم وتغيب الرؤيا.
