تعالج هذه الدراسة موضوع استخدام التقنيات الحديثة في العملية التعليمية، والفوائد الناتجة عنها، وتأثيرها في عملية التعلم والمعلم والمتعلم، وخاصة بعد الانتشار الكبير لها في مختلف جوانب الحياة، ويتكون مجتمع الدراسة من العاملين في كلية العلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية بجامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، والذي يتكون من 120 مبحوثاً من العدد الكلي البالغ 186، وقد تبين من خلال الدراسة أن هناك نسبة عالية من العاملين في الكلية يستخدمون الوسائل التكنولوجية الحديثة في التعليم بغض النظر عن جنسياتهم أو رتبهم العلمية أو تخصصاتهم أو الجامعات التي تخرجوا فيها أو خبراتهم العملية السابقة، أو طرق تعلمهم لاستخدام هذه الوسائل. وقد تبين أن الجوانب الإيجابية للعملية أكبر من الجوانب السلبية، سواء فيما يختص بالعملية التعليمية ذاتها أو بالمدرس أو بالأدوات التقنية أو بالنتائج التعليمية أو حتى بالنسبة للمتعلمين. وبينت الدراسة تنوع الوسائل التعليمية، وحداثة استخدامها، وأن الجهود الشخصية في تعلم استخدامها هي السائدة. وبينت الدراسة أن العاملين قد أجمعوا على أهميتها ولكنها لا يمكن أن تحل محل العامل البشري في التعليم لأن التفاعل البشري مهم. وبينت الدراسة أن 25% من العاملين في الكلية من المواطنين والبقية عرب، وأن نسبة المواطنين الذين يستخدمون الوسائل التقنية في العملية التعليمية بلغت 100%.
