تتأسس هذه الدراسة المخصصة لروايات الأدبية العربية السورية غادة السمان على وفق تصورات عدة ، لا سيما ما يرتبط منها بالتطورات والتغيرات التاريخية والجمالية التى واكبت مسيرة الرواية العربية التي انطلقت معتمدة في تقنياتها الكتابية على ارث حكائي عربي متأصل في الوجدان والذاكرة .... ومن ثم الانفتاح على الخطاب الروائي الغربي الذي سبق الرواية العربية بأشواط طويلة مما حقق له الريادة والتأثير الأحادي غير المتبادل وفق مقولات فكرية مركزية تؤمن بالهيمنة وتصنغ كل شيء بلونها وشكلها البراق وايديولوجياتها المتغيرة وتعد غادة السمان صوتا إنسانيا وإبداعيا منفردا في سماء الإبداع العربي، وخصوصية التجربة لغادة تنبع من المرحلة الزمنية الطويلة والمتنوعة التي عملت فيها ( شعر ، قصة رواية ، كتب رحلات ، سيرة ذاتية ) وكذلك لأنها لا تتعامل مع وجبات أدبية جاهزة ومعلبة ومحدودة الانتشار بل تسافر نحو الإبداع النوعي المختلف والمغاير الذي يكشف العيوب التي تخجل منها ،فغادة السمان تطرح مشاكلنا بدون اقنعة او تورية او ترميز ترفي يبعد اللغة والأدب عن حقيقتهما الاجتماعية ، وهي بذلك تضع القارئ أمام الحقيقة القاسية والعارية ، وتتحدث عن السياسة والجنس والجهل والقفر بوصفها حقائق قائمة لا ازمات عابرة ، فهي تعري المجتمع العربي بعد نكساته السياسية والإنسانية ، وهزائمه الداخلية والعسكرية لذلك كان لا بد في كتابنا هذا الذي يقارب مسألية الزمن السردي في المعمار الروائي عند غادة السمان ، أن تلقي الضوء على آليات هذا المنهج وصيرورتها التاريخية وتداخلاتها المنهجية ، ومن ثم محاولتنا رصد العلاقة الإشكالية عبر الدارسة التطبيقية بين الفروض النظرية والقراءة الإجرائية غير القسرية وإنما المتلائمة مع الطروحات المنهجية
