لقد تعهد اللَّـه عز وجل بحفظ كتابه الكريم ، ومن حفظ اللَّـه سبحانه وتعالى له أنْ قيَّض له من قام بقراءته و إقرائه وتحقيق رواياته ؛ وقد اختير على رؤوس القراءات سبعٌ قد بلغت درجة التواتر ؛ وقد ضُم إلى تلك السبعــة ثلاثٌ وافقت العربية ورسم المصحف واشتهرت عند القراء ؛ إذ هي من أصول قراءات الأئمة السبعة . وقد نال العالم العلامة ابن الجزري شرف نظم القراءات الثلاث في " دُرَّته " تلك الدرة التي شرحها وكشف النقاب عنها ذلك العلامة الجليل محمد بن حسن السمنُّودي في أوجز عبارة وأدق أسلوب مع شرح واف سهل بسيط لآيات تلك الدرة القيمة النادرة في بيان القراءات الثلاثة المتممة للقراءات العشرة.
