يتميز الإعلام الإسلامي عن غيره بأنه صاحب رسالة ورؤية وأهداف واضحة، تخدم جميع شرائح المجتمع، لكن أفلا يحق لنا أن نتساءل أولاً عن مدى حقيقة وجود إعلام إسلامي ضمن مجموع هذا اللغط الإعلامي؟ وهل نتوفر فعلاً على كفاءات إعلامية إسلامية، بإستطاعتها المضي قدماً في المجال؟ بل وهل لدى مسؤولينا الإرادة السياسية لإيجاد فعل إعلامي إسلامي بكل ما في الكلمة من معنى؟.
هل وصل الإعلام الإسلامي المعاصر لطموحه المنشود وأوجد مكاناً مستقلاً غير تقليدي في ظل تواجد العديد من الفضائيات العربية والعالمية ذات الطابع المتقدم حيناً والمتكرر أحياناً كثيرة؟ وهل حقق تأثيراً فعلياً في الأمة ودخل معترك المنافسة الجادة على القمة، أم هو في طريقة لأسفل الهرم من حيث شعر أو لم يشعر؟.
كلها تساؤلات تطرأ على الذهن إذا وردت سيرة الإعلام الإسلامي الحالي الذي يستعرض المؤلف في هذا الكتاب بعضاً من دوره في واقعنا المعاصر.
