النوم يثقل جفنيها بعد ان جافاها طول الليل . عانت من ليلة طويلة لا اول لها ولا آخر. عذبها نوم متقطع قلق. تزاحمت عليها فيه الوجوه. تعرف بعضها ولا تعرف البعض الآخر. وجوه تضحك وأخرى تصرخ مستنزلة عليها اللعنات. وجه الطبيبة يبتسم تهنئ وتبارك تمتزج الضحكات بالصراخ ، يعلو الضجيج ويرتفع . يضيع وجه الطبيبة ويختفي في الزحام تصرخ تبحث عنها. تم يدها تتلمس مكانها. أياد كثيرة تندفع إليها تحاول إنتزاعها . تتعالى الأصوات الأيادي تلتحم بالاصوات صانعة سدا يحاصرها. تصرخ وتصرخ. تمسك بيد لا تعرف صاحبها تتصبب عرقا وتتوه الوجوه.
