ما أجملة الرحلة عندما تكون رحلة قراءة في معالم تاريخ بلدٍ-ماضيه وحاضره وناسه-وهكذا يفعل الكاتب أحمد بن محمد بن عبد الله بن حميد الذي غادر بلده السعودية في رحلة إلى الأردن فسمى كتابه "الرحلة الأردنية: خطرات... ومشاهدات" ليسجل بين صفحاته أحلى الأوقات التي أمضاها بصحبة العائلة في ربوع بلد شقيق سماها "أرض النشامي" وقد تنقل فيها خمسة أيام جال في أرضها وجبالها وبحرها وأسواقها القديمة، فترك نفسه على سجيتها، وهو يكتب "تنقل لك فيها ما رأت، وتحدثك بما تحدثت بها في قراراتها، وكاتبها ههنا متأدب أراد سلوك طريق أهل الأدب، ومرتحل أراد أن يقصّ عليك من نبأ رحلته، فلتكن نظرتك نظرة الرضى".
بهذا التقديم، يبدأ المؤلف كتابة يومياته في ارض النشامي والداعي لها كما يقول: "حضور مؤتمر إقامته الجامعة الأردنية جلت بصحبة أسرتي جملة من معالمها ومدنها التي تشم في جنباتها عبق التاريخ، وتتمثل فيها بطولات السلف الفاتحين، ومن درج قبلهم من الغابرين، وترى فيها شيم العروبة الأصيلة ومكارم الأخلاق الفطرية (...) هي جولة بين التاريخ والجغرافيا والذكريات والمشاهدة والمقارنة، وقد تعلقت نفسي منذ تلك الرحلة بأرض النشامي وأكتاف بيت المقدس وأهلها الكرام...".
عندما ننتهي من قراءة الكتاب ستعرف الكثير عن بلد لا نعرف منه إلاّ اسمه وانه بلد عربي، بينما هو سجلاً حافلاً للحضارة والأصالة؛ وحَسنً فعل الكاتب بن حُميّد في إضافة لبنة جديدة إلى أدب الرحلة وإلى المكتبة العربية وإلى الجيل العربي الجديد الذي يفتقد إلى مثل هذه المعلومات التاريخية الهامة... فلنذهب معه في رحلة روائية مسلية وممتعة هي "الرحلة الأردنية.
